Hey Paige,i think you did a great job with your pop culture tour. You used examples from your personal life and tied them into poop culture as a whole. and i thought it turned out pretty well. better than mine:) keep up the good work. :) <3
Okay so here is my other half of the my popculture tour quest! I didnt quite understand the first time so I will write an essay here in the comment box to explain the other half. As you know I chose the three different genres of pop culture. Hot Topic as the "entertainment and fashion" Dairy queen as the "food and beverage" and my Iphone as "Technology" All of these genres are conisdered popculture because they are constantly changing Hot Topic was chosen because It is all about music, movies, tv, and fashion which are all popculture as well, it is all the "Hot" items that are currently popular with the people and you are able to buy those items at that store.. For example the Avengers is a movie that is extremely popular right now and Hot Topic sells Avengers merchandise such as clothes, plush dolls, wallets, belts, soundtracks, etc. The person reason why I chose Hot Topic and how this certain popculture genre influences my life is because I am the assistant manager at the Hot Topic here in Prescott. I sell popculture items to people everyday! I feel that I am living in popculture more than anyone! Okay so the second popculture genre that I chose was Dairy Queen, this is an ice cream shop (they also serve food but i just like the ice cream) Dairy Queen is a franchise of Ice Cream all over the United States, and it is popculture because it is also popular with the people, Dairy Queen is known for their Blizzard shakes which you can hold upside down and they wont fall out of the cup, they are also known for crazy mixtures of different kind of candy in their ice cream they have advertisements on TV, billboards, radio, etc. Dairy Queen is personal to me because my favorite desseret is ice cream and Dairy Queen is my favorite place to get it! Also I know alot of people that are employed at Dairy Queen so it makes it that much more personal to my life. The last popculture genere that I chose was technology and I used my Iphone as an example. I took the picture with my iphone, and I also downloaded the Cinch app with my iphone, I think that in itself explains why my iphone is such an influence in my life and how technology itself is an influence in my life. I use it everyday! Iphones are considered popculture because they are new, everyone wants one (that doesnt already have one), they connect you to social networks and such, they also are always being upgraded and more things are added to them to make them wanted more by the public! So that is my take on the three different topics of popculture that I chose that are important in my life!
